Our chickens are hatched year round for those of you wanting to grow chickens commercially for your local restaurants or farmers' markets. Nesting habits: Wood Ducks seek out hollow trees, old woodpecker holes, or nest boxes for nesting. The wood duck is one of the few duck species that breed and nest in Florida. Inspect and clean Wood Duck nest boxes before and after breeding season. Range Wood ducks are commonly found throughout North America from British Columbia and Quebec, Canada, as far south as Mexico and Florida. In the North, birds return when the ice melts egg-laying begins soon afterward. The season for the geese, guineas, and pheasants is in the spring and early summer. It did hold nine chicken eggs but would only hold six duck eggs even with taking the dividers out of the tray. Nesting Details Egg-laying can begin in late January in the South. Whereas most hatcheries stop hatching in June or July, we hatch Pekin and Mallard year round and our other breeds of ducks from February through early December. Our minimum order quantity is two ducklings or goslings so you do not have to raise more birds than you want.
